racquet trialling day was rescheduled for Thursday 8 December due to the weather. There were a few members who still turned up today to trial a number of racquets.
Discussed the need to set the club champs for next year. Think about the format, ideas for different formats potentially. Discussed potentially holding them over a couple of afternoon/evenings given the heat.
Membership Secretary Report –Betty Maitland has replaced Reuben Hedger as the membership secretary
Summary of membership status:
Membership has dropped from our peak last year. Not uncommon as historically we have found membership increase over the summer months. The highest churn has been with our juniors.
Media – Gail Burk-Jackson

The KKTC buildings have been water blasted.
The honour boards have been updated and rehung
Sand has been applied and brushed into courts 1-4, 7-9

Kerikeri Tennis Club Committee Meeting 6 December 2022
It has been a little slower this month, partly due to some with medical conditions, many away on holidays etc. Wednesday night is still popular but lacking some of our regulars. We have been lucky with weather, only getting caught once, play continued until it absolutely bucketed down, quite a bit of fun.
Club days are still well attended, though numbers are down a little. Some members from overseas have returned home. Other overseas players have made contact wishing to play here on their travels. Other members playing both tennis and pickle ball are concentrating on tennis due to upcoming events.
Clare is getting a good amount of inquiry regarding Pickle itself, with newer players attending her Friday morning introduction (fortnightly). Clare is hosting a much looked forward to Tournament this Saturday at Kerikeri Primary for any members that have participated in one of her coaching sessions.
I will be pulling back from organizing any events over the Christmas period, will pick up later half of January, larger events early February.
Agenda
Joanie Irissarri presenting an update on social events
Joanie gave an update on the raffle, which has seen around $500 being made for the KKTC. Feedback through the raffle has indicated that members would like to see the money be spent on more outside chairs. The committee will look options for purchasing some in the new year.
The KKTC Christmas party will be held on Friday, Barb has kindly agreed to provide sufficient chairs for the event.
Update on resurfacing and use of courts 5 and 6.
No firm date as yet. Plexipave have told us indicatively March/April 2023. By the next committee meeting in February 2023 we will hopefully have a date firmed up and we will schedule working bee to remove up the Astroturf.
Club Spark update
Betty and Hayden gave the committee an update on Club Spark which is the new membership platform the KKTC will be using into the future. Looks like a great system and will enable members to register and pay online. There are a number of useful functions which the committee will be exploring over the coming year.
Casual fees coming into summer
Casual fees for summer (3 months) have been set at $150
Lights
Barb is going to order another light for Court 6 so we can get the bulbs replaced on courts 1 and 6.
Recycling
Gayle is looking into options for our recycling.
Date of Next Meeting – February 7th 2023
Meeting Closed at 9:00 pm
