Position Vacant: Pickleball Coach
Fri, 02 May 2025 00:00
After four years of dedicated service, our current Club Pickleball Coach, Clare Redward, is stepping down—creating an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to lead and grow an established coaching programme in one of New Zealand’s premier pickleball venues. This role is based at the Kerikeri Tennis & Pickleball Club in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands, Northland.
About the Club
Kerikeri Tennis & Pickleball Club is a vibrant, combined Club with over 400 members. We proudly offer eight dedicated outdoor pickleball courts—four of which are floodlit—and boast a growing pickleball community of 150 adults and 10 juniors. The courts are available daily from 7:00am to 10:00pm, and the coach has guaranteed access to two courts outside of Club social / rec play hours (rec play is 8–12 hours per week, season-dependent).
The Opportunity
This is a self-employed role, with the appointed coach having exclusive rights to coach Pickleball at the Club. There are currently two established weekly adult group sessions, one weekly junior session (under 12s, during term time), as well as regular private lessons. There is increasing demand and significant potential to expand the programme further. The coach is able to utilise the Club website and booking system, where members can book their sessions online. Coaching fees are managed and collected independently by the coach. No court hire fee is charged by the Club.
With the sport’s growing popularity and new venues opening across Northland, there’s also scope to broaden your coaching reach beyond Kerikeri.
