Pickleball

Welcome to Pickleball

Pickleball is an athletic paddle sport for all ages and skill levels. It is a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The rules are simple and it is easy for beginners to learn which makes this sport accessible and fun.  Pickleball is highly addictive and can quickly develop into a fast-paced, strategic and competitive game.

The basics

  • Pickleball can be played indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a modified tennis net.  At the club we have eight dedicated outdoor courts - four with lights for night play in winter.
  • The equipment used is a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.
  • The format is either doubles or singles.
  • Scoring is usually the first team to 11 or 21 points.

When can I play?

If you want to try Pickleball, please attend one of our club sessions. We have paddles you can borrow so you can join right in.  When you arrive, head down to the far end of the courts and let one of our members know you are a new player and someone will show you the ropes!

We also have monthly Introduction to Pickleball lessons on the first Friday of every month (dates below), which new local players are welcome to attend. This is a great way to familiarise yourself with the rules and scoring.  Please book your place (see below).
